Here are more new architectural terms: Pilasters. Romanesque. Are you surprised by how many different architectural styles were used in building lighthouses?

The keepers assigned to lighthouses were not always compatible. Some had unfortunate character traits that caused problems. The head keeper at this station had to deal with the assistant keeper who reported for duty drunk on November 23, 1913. This Reader's Guide is intended to be used with Lighthouses Short and Talla book for readers 11 and up written by Mary Louise and Candace Clifford.  It is available from the publisher, Cypress Communications, by using their book order form.
